WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE RATE?

The price includes accommodation, breakfast (croissants, fruit, juices, tea, coffee, bread, jam, eggs, bacon), a mid-afternoon snack with tea and biscuits and a fresh welcome drink. Beach towels, sun beds, rock-climbing shoes, mask and flippers for snorkeling. The wi-fi network.

WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RATE?

Lunch, dinner, spa treatments, bar service, laundry.

ARE PRICES PER PERSON OR PER NIGHT? DO CHILDREN PAY?

Prices are per Bungalow per night. There is a supplement for additional persons. If you are traveling alone the price is lower. Children stay free up to 2 years old. They pay full rate from 3 years upwards.

DO I NEED VACCINATIONS?

No. There are no compulsory vaccinations but we advise you to consult your doctor before departure.

VISA?

The visa can be done directly at the airport and costs $ 50 in admission (to be paid in dollars by credit card) and $ 49 outgoing in cash. Only with charter flights. the passport must be valid for at least six months after entering the country.

HOW MUCH IS THE TRANSFER TO AND FROM THE AIRPORT?

Transfer costs $ 60 per way per taxi. Taxis can carry 6-7 people. The transfer is organized directly from our facility and at any time, upon request.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO RENT A CAR?

Yes. It is possible at the airport and directly at the resort with a specific request. You need an international driving licence or you can get a special local pass (under payement) with your normal driving licence.

ARE BUNGALOWS DIFFERENT BETWEEN THEM?

All bungalows are the same.

CAN I SMOKE IN A ROOM?

No. You can smoke in all open areas and in the balcony in front of the bungalow.

IS WI-FI IN THE ROOMS?

Yes in all rooms and all common areas.

ARE THERE SAFETY BOX IN THE ROOM?

Yes.

ARE BEACH TOWELS PROVIDED BY THE RESORT?

Yes. Each bungalow has beach towels, a straw hat, a dressing gown and room slippers.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO HAVE HALF OR FULL BOARD?

No it is not provided. Our restaurant is always open and offers a wide selection of local and international plates on a menu a la carte.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO HAVE VEGETARIAN DISHES?

Yes. Our dishes are always prepared with fresh food and made at the moment therefore, upon request, our chefs can also satisfy special needs.

IS IT SURE TO EAT RAW VEGETABLES?

Yes. Our facility is equipped with a latest generation filtration and desalination system and the water is clean and safe throughout all the Resort. Vegetables are bought in safe places and washed carefully.

HOW CAN I PAY?

With all credit cards. Cash in $ in € and Tanzanian shillings.

WHAT KIND OF WATER SPORTS CAN PRACTICE?

It is possible to do: snorkeling, diving (Makunduchi diving center) and kite surfing (on the beach of Paje) not far from the resort.

WHAT KIND OF EXCURSIONS CAN I DO?

All the excursions that we offer are organized by our local trusted partners and can be arranged directly within the resort. You can find the list of excursions proposed by us in the EXPERIENCES section on our website.

DO YOU ORGANIZE SAFARIES IN TANZANIA?

Ujamaa Beach Resort does not organize safaris directly but it is possible with our partners.

WHAT ARE THE CLOTHING CODES?

Zanzibar is a Muslim country. Nudism and topless are forbidden by law. Bikinis can be worn inside the resort and on the beach. Outside our structure, we recommend clothing that is suited to local uses.

WHICH LANGUAGES ARE SPOKEN?

Italian, English, Kiswahili.

The RESORT

The brand-new resort is exclusive and quiet, overlooks the beach and is embraced by a wonderful tropical garden.
It consists of 8 bungalows with two beds and 2 adjoining bungalows, ideal for families or larger groups.
The bar-restaurant, with its unique ocean view, offers an exquisite local and international cuisine and directly overlooks the pool and private beach.
The cosy wellness centre offers moments of relaxation while observing the ocean.

“Perfect Resort in the south of Zanzibar”

…Everything was just great, all facilities are as you expect from a 5 star resort.
Next to that the resort has a big restaurant where they serve excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner.
You really do not have to leave the resort.
…the service was perfect, staff extremely friendly and the owners Malaika and Roger
do everything to make your stay as perfect as possible.
We even had suits made by the tailor who works for the resort and the results were astonishing.
I can recommend this place to anyone who visits Zanzibar and will be most likely returning in the future.

… Ujamaa is absolute heaven, and is the perfect place if you want to slip away from the world for a while.
The bungalows are beautifully furnished, comfortable, and well-outfitted.
The pool/ lounging area is stunning, and the beach is quiet.

…Ujamaa’s restaurant is fantastic. The food – whether you’re eating seafood, Tanzanian food, or Western selections – is delicious…
Ujamaa is a good option for families, as the property can organize day trips and has plenty of on-site entertainment options (ping pong table, trampoline, toys, etc.) 
We also loved the hotel and restaurant staff. Friendly, helpful, and thoughtful, they were willing and able to assist us with anything we might ask. Very professional. 
…In all honestly, it’s one of my favorite places I’ve stayed in my entire life.
I can’t recommend it enough.

“Hidden paradise”

…The staff is very friendly, heartwarming, with a personal and genuine approach.
The place is linked to an Italian NGO and community project, very eco-friendly and sustainable.
They all did their best to make our stay special.
The atmosphere is very relaxing, good energy, with many places to find peace in a shadow in a hammock.
The food was fresh and excellent, so were their cocktails! All food local and made from scratch.
Also the furnitures were rustique and locally crafted from old boats, the room was yet modern in their facilites …
… Ujamaa is an excellent alternative to the touristy and unpersonal all-inclusives up north.
Ujamaa has very few rooms which offers an exclusive feeling and relaxing atmosphere.
We would recommend this place to all! Both couples, friends and families:)

“Perfect paradise”

We were there for 7 nights and every day we felt like paradise.
The staff and especially Malaika were amazing, very friendly and very helpful.
They even organized massages in the little spa while watching the sunset.
The seafood was fantastic and the cocktails amazing and everytime with fresh fruits and a lot of love!
…We were really sad about leaving cause it was just perfect!!!
And the bungalows are with so much love and nice amenities, just pretty nice and lovely.
The beach is beautiful and clean and you don’t get annoyed by any local guides.

“Fantastic place to stay”

Great bungalows, super friendly staff, food is very good too.
The beach in front of the hotel is unbelievably beautiful and still wild, with nearly nobody except fisherman.
The hotel steered by Malaika is linked to a charity project in the region.

“Beautiful island”

..All staff are very friendly and pleasant people, ready to help any time.
Rastaurant is amazing: during the breakfast you can choose the variety of food and fresh squeezed juices,
during lunch and dinner time there are fresh seafood, fish and meat – every dish is very tasty.
Bungalos are pretty designed, very comfortable and clean.
Swiming pool area and beach area are relaxing and enjoyable – we definetly want to come back!

…the Bungalows are so cosy with the Zanzibar-African furniture everything handmade it’s amazing.

…the pool and beach side are great and it is a very relaxing atmosphere…
…highly recommendable is the culture tour through the village of Makunduchi to give you an idea of the local life and to get the awesome view from the top of the lighthouse.
The are is sort of off the beaten track within Zanzibar which makes it very appealing to explore
and the resort is very new and supports school and development projects as it is run by an Italian NGO.
